We have been working on the kitchen.
I have convinced Large that we want to have concrete counters in our new kitchen.
The first house that we were in together, we redecorated the kitchen, took down a couple of walls and add a huge island with a granite counter top.
We loved it!
We found out we couldn't damage it no matter what we did to it. It was great.
Then, in our next home, the one we built, we put in a soapstone counter.
It was beautiful!!!
But, you couldn't use it for anything. You couldn't put anything on it, cut on it, get water on it, absolutely useless!
So, in an effort to try something new, we are doing the concrete this time.
Here are a few pictures of the process so far.
First, Large made a form using Melamine board, then he caulked the corners, so they're not so sharp.
Then he mixed up the counter top cement.
Here's the finished project.
I'll update you after it has a chance to cure.
